Last 2-3
months were very important for the Indian people because two major events
occurred in this time period. First one in the field of politics, people
supported BJP with full majority and this helped to collapsed almost all the
status of entire political party because of Indian people were seeing a new
hope in BJP and the second one was sad event for the UPSC Hindi medium
aspirants. (Including all regional languages) UPSC declared a
historical result for the regional language aspirants and passed out few
luckily aspirant in this biased competition. Out of 1122 hundred
vacancies only 53 Hindi and other regional medium students selected (Only
26 were from Hindi medium background) and got a chance to serve
the nation. When the result declared and saw the awful status of success,
merely this percentage dwindled to almost 2.3 percent. One time thought to
change the medium because this could be a right way to get success but how
could be I turn to other side. I completely grew up with Hindi medium so it was
risk for me to change my medium and not feel comfortable to appear this exam in
English medium. After certain time got to know students are protesting against
this discrimination policy and this helped me to get unwind from the anxiety
period. Reason behind to think this way because newly formed government adopt
the ideology of “Hindutva” and “Swedshi” so this philosophy will bring some
positive outcome in the favour of civil services aspirants.
Started
fasting unto death was a good start to oppose CSAT and added other factors that
are hurdle to crack stages. A movement completely based on the principal of
non-violence and got support by many distinguish personality. Students had a
deep faith on government that will help to sort it out this biased and this
firm become more stronger when our respected Prime Minister gave a positive nod
to re-establish the position of Hindi and to promote other regional languages
likewise Tamil, Telgu, Bengali, Gujrati, Urdu, Oriya etc. BJP’s inclined
towards language gave certain hope and all students were thinking now this biased
pattern will take away soon but very soon got the clear intention of
government.
Every
alternate day several times issue arose up in house’s but not derived actual
result. Students opposed parliament to India Gate etc. Knocked the door of
every possible personality who can pressurize government as well UPSC but all
efforts were in vain because of clashing ego of two bodies.
One think,
we are in democracy with absolute majority and other coin think, I am a part of
constitutional body so free to do anything. Sometimes I get laugh when see the
condition of government. Policymakers are not trying to understand the need,
want and demand of students. They are playing politically. Almost 80% well
known politician belongs to remote area but when the point comes to think about
these aspirants how simply turn up the issue. Many distinguish personality have
swept aside the importance of CSAT. After it policy makers should take up this
matter on high priority. Receiving lakhs of notion in one favour means something
is going wrong on broad level.
As a Hindi
medium student, I and others are not against of English medium but the
procedure which UPSC following is completely biased and this year it has been
proved after coming out result, success ratio was only 2.3% for Hindi medium
students. Mostly aspirants specially belong to IIT, IIM, Convent schools,
students and many others who are preparing for Banking, SSC easily crack
prelims on the basis of CSAT score and after it putting some smart effort
easily crossed the second stage of exam.
Furthermore,
in Interview same thing repeated so now Interview board has become a stress
place for students who don’t keep the ability to explain his thought as per
board demand in English language. This year heard board pressurized many
aspirants to speak up in English. Can we all imagine the level of fairness and injustice?
One more
surprising fact in the result of this year which I see many toppers secured
marks less than 33% and after it they are selected. It’s a considerable
question. Majorly portion of GS syllabus designed on the basis of problems are in
India and securing below 33% means you didn't be able to understand the different dimension of India and after it you are going to be next bureaucrat. In this perspective,
if you are failing then how can we expect to be a good administrator? Even in
school period if secured marks less than 33 percent then consider it as a fail
but here in civil service exam they are going to run country. UPSC and Indian government
need to introspect into this matter why they are not able to secure up high/good
marks. Easily can see the presence of loopholes in exam trend. Even though,
those students who have a good intellect and deep understanding of subject they get out from examination in initial few
phases because of artificial translation of questions that degrade the purport
of question it’s completely ridiculous and not acceptable at any cost. The
focal procedure of recruitment in UPSC should not be based on the ability of an
aspirant in Mathematics, Reasoning & English only; but how good he or she
is to take quick decision, personal ability and ace level into subjective
domain.
A
diversified cultured nation like an India where several internal scourge exists
that calls for a person who can attach personally towards to basic demand in
the context of Indian scenario and a person who brought up in such surroundings
that can easily beat the cause of problem, easily can apprehend the subject and
outing them means we are producing product without having quality. Concern people
should understand general things, country demands administrator not manager. We
want an administrator who can understand the exigency of district. Easily can
mix up with people, can be able to establish a strong communication at all
stages such type of administrator we want. We don’t want sycophant who
are ready to lick boots for their own advantage.
By this
article, request to government, need to revamp the exam pattern. Furthermore,
try to understand the intangible pain of students and take some stern action in
the favor of strong bureaucracy that will rejuvenate this nation.
